New 3rd edition of VDA 6.3 Process audit was published in 12/2016.

A new revision Automotive IATF 16949 standard published in 10/2016, which replaced the existing ISO/TS 16949.

IATF 16949 is based on the structure and requirements of ISO 9001: 2015, but does not include the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015. However, meeting the requirements of ISO 9001 will still be required to obtain a certificate according to IATF 16949 certified.

Basic data:

After October 1, 2017 can be no audit (initial, surveillance, recertification) made according to ISO/TS 16949: 2009.

Certificates ISO / TS 16949 is no longer valid after September 14, 2018 (this is considering that contain ISO 9001, for which the deadline expires certificates).

October 1, 2017 to the company may ask for an initial (first) certification according to ISO/TS 16949: 2009, but the validity of these certificates ending September 14, 2018.

After October 1, 2017 may only company certified according to the IATF 16949.
